hello to the new cc community!

I spent some time wandering in the maze of options for community forum. Now i can see that
it was worth the time i took to do this research. Now i have full and unequivocal appreciation for the format that Jen has chosen. It's truly wonderful and perfect for us and i'm really proud and happy about it. I am really moved to be part of something so full of hope and joy.

Kudo's to Jen and to Jim for inspiring us to build a thriving compassionate community!

Hi Sandy
Your appreciation and contribution are greatly appreciated!  I really look forward to this basic format being a seed for what the forum will grow into, reflecting our diverse and vibrant NVC community.
Warmly
Jen

I know some people who have come to the practice group but aren't on the email list.

How do we go about inviting such people to take part in the forum?

Good Morning!

It seems we need a plan for sending out summaries to the practice group.

Last night's group with Eric and Wendy was truly amazing! Everyone's eyes were shining at the end.

I'd like to start a discussion about how to set up who does the summaries.
One idea - at the end of each group one member volunteers to write up the evening and announce the next evening's plan. OR people volunteer in advance for certain dates, or some combo
I think it's too much to ask guest facilitators to write up summaries for the Forum. But perhaps they could offer anything already in writing to simplify the job for the group.
much gratitude to Eric & Wendy for sharing their skills, resources, time, energy, enthusiasm, vulnerabilities and love for NVC!

warmly,
sandy

Excellent points Sandy!   I am seeing an opportunity to provide more information about people's membership (and possible settings) as well as how to add new people.   (it really is as simple as giving them the website address and asking them to Register![smile]

Also hearing feedback about how to ensure consistency in the Pacfiica PG summaries.  Once people have joined the forum and are checking back they will see the summaries posted.  I will also figure out how to do mass emails to help people stay informed.

Thanks for the input!
Jen

Some suggestions:

1.) I would like to see summaries in a spot of their own for greater ease of navigation.  Once this forum is hopping with posts everywhere, it could get chaotically messy.  Good to start with as many sub-categories as possible.

2.) Perhaps we could provide some guidelines for posting.  Often forums have guidelines that are helpful in bringing greater order, harmony and ease.  We could yank some off other sites for consideration.  I am about to head to bed so I will think about this further later.

3.) How about creating a section on NVC Social Change? I would also like to add other sections to the forum.  Can I do that? Or do I need admin privileges for that? I'm sure I can come up with tons of topics, even just looking at the NVC Marketplace site!

4.) From the template options, I like the Soft Blue template (5th template on page 1).  Not too harsh on the eyes, gender neutral (not so fruity looking that it'll scare off the guys), easy to read, and clean look.  I find the orange links on this template to be a bit tough to read.

Thoughts on any of my four points?

I wanted to add a topic, but its not letting me.  Do you need enable this function for me?  Would you be willing to fix this?

I was hoping to post something about how we can get a group discount for Raj's "Compassionate Communication in the Workplace" course!  It's happening 3.5 weeks (April 5 & 6th), and we need to garner interest ahead of time, so would be best to post it soon!

I would also like to add more topics to help the organization of the site, so that people could easily find the info they are looking for, and make visible the info they want to post. There are sooo many topics we could add!
