May 30 and May 31 from 9:00am - 5:00pm
We are so excited to be able to host this event at Inspiral!
Come join us and learn how to better communicate with Compassion (NVC) with certified NVC trainer Raj Gill! Knowing how to communicate clearly and effectively is one of the most important skills we can learn. Whether at work or at home, how well we communicate impacts not only our effectiveness and the quality of relationships, but also our level of stress and overall well being. This interactive workshop will give us an opportunity to learn a language and process that helps build a quality of connection in which people can hear each other. When we express ourselves, are we sure others are really hearing what we are saying? We will explore how to choose our words, the medium and timing of our communication. By taking full responsibility for our communication style we can relieve others of the burden of interpretation and eliminate the frustration and exhaustion that comes from misunderstanding. Specifically, together we will learn & practice how to: Describe a situation affecting your well being without judgment or blame Develop deeper awareness of emotional triggers and learn to respond to the respectfully Connect to your own feelings and understand the needs that are not met in any given situation Understand the feelings and needs being expressed when a person has an emotional reaction Develop ability to stay engaged in difficult conversations/situations Make clear requests that increase the likelihood of getting needs heard and understood Accurately hear the other person's frame of reference even when they express themselves with anger Give and receive acknowledgment and appreciation that build confidence and self-esteem.
