Mindful Communication:  Truth without Blame

A workshop in Nonviolent Communication

with Jean Morrison of Santa Cruz, CA

Saturday only, May 10th, 10am-4pm

Venue: Vancouver, tba

Are you wanting support in ~
• hearing others with compassion even when it's hardest to do
• speaking your truth without the overlay of blame, resentment, or criticism
• developing skills to increase your trust that everyone's needs can be met, even when it seems hopeless
• identifying the "stories and judgments" that hold you back
• learning a "mindful model'" that will support your healthy relationships at work and at home?

Through emphasis on honesty and deep listening—to ourselves as well as others—Nonviolent Communication (NVC) fosters respect, attentiveness and empathy, and engenders a mutual desire to connect from the heart.

In a lively, collaborative, and supportive environment, we will integrate our life examples with fun and laughter to balance the deep, insightful work this process invites. Participants’ most frequent feedback, “this workshop gives tools and inspires hope.”

This event is widely advertised and space is limited!   Register soon!

Cost*
- pay what you can (suggested contribution $75, all contributions welcome)

Registration and inquiries: jeaninvancouver2014@gmail.com

The process is being taught to individuals and organizations in over 35 countries by CNV Ccertified trainers and NVC practitioners in schools, homes, prisons, corporations and businesses, health care, and government institutions for social change, and with individuals and families.

Jean Morrison, MA (Psychology, counseling and holistic health) has been a certified trainer with the international Center for Nonviolent Communication (NVC) since 1989 and a founding member of The Center for Transformative Communication in Santa Cruz, Ca. since 2004. She has been providing trainings, consultation, and mediation for the past 27 years for diverse groups and organizations including hospitals, university departments, corporate teams, hotels and retreat centers, health centers, prison inmates and staff, school administrators and teaching staff, parents, couples, and families in both the US and Canada. Her workshops get rave reviews and many return attendees.

Here's her flyer to pass on to others!  Might also have a bit more info (I haven't stopped to compare the details).

Hello, EVCCC members,
I'm one of the organizers for the upcoming workshop in Vancouver with Jean Morrison from Santa Cruz, CA on Saturday May 10th.  I regret that we have issued conflicting messages about length of workshop and price.  We initially advertised it as May 9-10, but now it is shortened to one day, May 10th.

We have discovered the challenge well-known to professional event organizers:  you can't easily book a time or space till you know how many people are coming.  But you won't know how many people are coming until you can provide a clear statement of time and place, and price. We are so longing for certainty, inclusion, participation, enthusiasm, and clarity.  It's hard to experience all those wonderful qualities at once, in situations such as these.

That said, to clarify:  Jean Morrison's "Mindful Communication, Truth Without Blame" workshop is now ONE DAY ONLY, Saturday May 10th, from 10 am - 4 pm.  The new price is "Pay what you can" ("dana") -- suggested payment is $75.00 for those who can manage that, and for those who can't, whatever they can manage.  Melissa has kindly posted the most recent (and correct) pdf poster of the event in her comment on the Forum, where you can find more information.

Location will likely be in a condo conference room at the foot of Howe St. on False Creek. Exact location will be provided to registrants once final numbers are in. If we get a sudden enthusiastic response of more people than that room can hold, we have the option of a larger room elsewhere.

Much gratitude to Jen C who has published the various versions of the promo I have provided, and to Melissa for posting the the most current information - I appreciate the support and community!

Finally, thank you to Jim, Jen, and other Pacifica Practice Group organizers for opening the Tues May 6th time slot for Jean Morrison to be guest facilitator of the Practice Group.

I  am looking forward to seeing any of you who are interested in experiencing Jean's leadership.
Warmly,
Nancy B

Thanks Melissa for sharing the poster and Nancy for the updated information above.  I have also edited (in pink) the original post in hopes of contributing to clarity and supporting people to sign up for this rare opportunity to study with a different trainer.

Jen
