We had 8 participants, and we began with a guided meditation to become present and in touch with our bodies, with a little extra focus on breathing and feeling our breath.
This was followed by a check-in.
The theme of the meeting was relationship and we had a big-group discussion around how to support our partners in relationships, and a very important relationship that was brought up was our relationship to ourselves. There was a lot of agreement around the idea of being compassionate with the different parts of ourselves and how to nurture and nourish those parts as we might want to do with a loved one, or have done to us as an expression of love. The idea of giving a lot of love and support to another seemed to be difficult for many as they remembered heartaches and challenging relationships. There was a desire to be supportive of someone in a bigger way if we could know that we would be treated and held likewise.
The last hour was empathy in pairs. The meeting closed with smiles on everyone's faces and participants acknowledged feeling peace, clarity, confidence, strength, and having experienced very meaningful connection.
