Would love to see volunteer facilitators step up to support the ongoing viability of our practise group. Would greatly support contribution, collaboration, community, reassurance and ease. Would you be willing to consider facilitating either on your own or with others for the times there are question marks below? Please contact each other if you are inspired to contribute or it meets any other needs in you! I have a Facilitators Toolkit book with many ideas if you'd like to borrow it. clemiehoshino@gmail.com

I am hoping to be involved in as many practice group sessions as possible, and at the same time, really value the opportunities to be a participant, co-leader, or sometimes go home and rest.

I am curious about finding an easy way to share leadership that is fun, satisfying and flows smoothly. Any suggestions would be very welcome. One idea I like is for possible leaders "adopting" one evening a month, and taking on responsibility for that group session -- leading on your own, co-leading, or finding someone else to cover.

I will continue to help, participate or get involved as much as I can.

Thanks

Jim

Hey peeps,

From now on, please go to the forum calendar to see the list of upcoming leaders and topics for our practice group.

We're currently experiencing tech issues with editing the "NVC practice group" event on the calendar, so I'm posting the leader and topics for the practice group above the event listing.

Clemie is handing the baton to me -- for now, I'm now taking on the role of co-ordinating facilitators.  We have openings for tomorrow (Thurs, Sept 30th), and October 8th and 28th.  Would you be open to facilitating any of those days?

If you're open to facilitating practice group for any timeframe (even months from now), please let me know by texting me (my preferred form of communication) or phoning/emailing me.  I won`t be posting my number nor email here.  If you don`t have my contact info, please post a reply here with the date you`re volunteering for and the topic (and consider sending your contact info for ease of communication).

Hi Melissa

Immensely grateful for your efforts and willingness to take on the baton here Melissa...

Could you please clarify what you mean by "I'm posting the leader and topics for the practice group above the event listing."... I am not able to find the "event listing" to see the leader and topics of the day...probably obvious, so thank you in advance for helping me out here!...navigating through forums is not my forte!

[wink]

Thanks for your question, Clemie.  Please check that you're in the October view first, because these changes only begin in October.

Here's an example of what I was talking about: October 6 and 7 look like this (my annotations are in black)

6
Leader: Andy Topic: TBA <---Leader, Topic
Pacifica Practice Group <---Event Listing
7

Am I making sense?

Co-leader request for
Oct 7, Nov 4, Dec 2, Jan 6, Feb 3, Mar 3.

Elisa
has booked the first day of each month till March as leader.  She is looking for a co-leader to accompany her (hence the question marks by "co-leader" beside her name, as you can see above)   Please contact her if that sounds like a possibility for you.  If you don't have her contact info, you can contact me, or leave a note here on this thread.

I'm still willing to facilitate on Tues, Oct 7, but have an email that says Andy is leading. Now I see that Andy is on Monday. Is there a mix-up somewhere? Should I prepare for Tuesday?

And going forward, will the forum be the "last word" on scheduling? or will I also be relying on email for that purpose?

Finally, I'm asking a lot of questions just to get them out there. Absolutely not in a hurry for answers. No matter how much organization is added, life still happens, so I can certainly "roll" with whatever is going on.

Cheers all!
Elisa (called Bilingual in the forum because I thought it was clever and mysterious, but now realize that transparency and clarity are more necessary!)

Hi Melissa, Thank you for this clarification!  Clicking on October makes it all clear, as you said, yay!  I love the clarity and appreciate your rapid response.

Elisa: I just texted Andy now and got the confirmation that its October 6th he's leading.  Yes, please go ahead with Oct 7th as planned.

Yes, the forum calendar is the last word on scheduling. If you see any errors, let me know.  I've asked Jen to let people on the facilitators list the type of permissions that allows them to enter their own names in.  She is away till next week.  If we can get that done, we can be confident of it being the most up to date. Plus, it would take a load off me.

Haha, I like your comment on mystery and transparency.

Nancy: Thanks for the kudos! [smile]

Hello All

Its wonderful, inspiring, and relieving to see the initiative, support and curiosity around sharing leadership.

I'm still planning to be involved as much as possible (while keeping self-care in balance), so I will happily co-lead (or go along for the ride as participant) if desired any time I'm there.

I also continue to love planning and leading groups, so will plan on leading any evenings where another leader has not stepped forward.

We talked yesterday in the group about there may be some evenings that are "Empathy Buffet" evenings -- leaderless opportunities to exchange empathy without a focus topic, or where the resources of the group can be drawn on to support one another.

I am deeply appreciating this community hanging in there as we move in new directions.

October leadership

This Monday was my first trial day as a leader coordinator (I'm testing the volunteer role out to see how well it fits into my life).  On that same day we got all days except Oct 28th filled.  I'm so blown away with gratitude for generosity of those who stepped up to lead: Andy, Mika, Elisa and Clemie.  I'm appreciating ClemieAndy and Mika's continual dedication as they regularly contribute to our community.

All you guys make my job and contribution to the group so much easier.  And to see this response rate gives me a sense of mutual support. I'm even more stoked about this community as a result!

Notably, almost half of that was made possible by Clemie, who booked THREE of the eight days in October (she also lead 3 sessions last month, and six in July!).  And Andy took TWO days in this month.

I was moved by how a new leader, Elisa stepped up to book, in advance, once EVERY month as her contribution to our community.

As a 100% volunteer run group, these are the people making October's events happen.

Someone give these darlings a hug, goddamnit!

Interested in hosting an "Empathy Buffet" Pacifica?

This Recipe for an "Empathy Buffet" Evening in our resources section might help.

Wow, hours just after posting this, Eric has now stepped up to the plate for Oct 28th.  High five, Eric!  Someone give this man a baked good! (inside joke) [tongue]
